Our ISA research network was pleased to participate in the 29th Methods Workshop hosted by the Center for Social World Research and Methodological Development (ZSM) at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. Held on May 8th and 9th in Magdeburg, the workshop provided diverse insights into qualitative educational and social research, as well as the opportunity to further develop and critically reflect on our own research projects in interpretation workshops.
The interdisciplinary exchange with experienced researchers and other participants in the various working groups was particularly enriching. From qualitative content analysis and the documentary method to ethnography, the team gained numerous insights into different research areas and topics, taking away valuable ideas and methodological inspiration for our own projects.
Furthermore, it was inspiring to learn from renowned scholars such as Prof. Dr. Fritz Schütze, Prof. Dr. Philipp Mayring, and Prof. Dr. Michaela Pfadenhauer, whose expertise significantly shaped the workshop.
Participation in the ZSM workshop has once again demonstrated how valuable scientific exchange and the collective reflection of qualitative research methods are for the advancement of innovative research projects.
