10.09.2025

On September 9, 2025, six citizens aged 40 and over met at Stendal City Hall to discuss medical care in their region.

The participants described numerous challenges, long waiting times, difficulties in scheduling appointments and a clear shortage of specialists. Many also expressed concern that the situation will worsen further due to the upcoming generational change among doctors . The participants also discussed the limited accessibility of medical services and gaps in therapeutic care. Nevertheless, inpatient and primary care were highlighted in a positive light.

At the same time, wishes were formulated, including local consultation hours, modern care models such as mobile doctors, and better coordination of opening hours for general practitioner practices.

The project team would like to thank all participants and the City of Stendal for their support.
